Welcome Back! Stormberg Orthodontics will officially reopen very soon and we want to welcome all our patients and their families back to our practice. As we open our practice, you will notice some changes we have implemented to keep everyone safe. The attachment included with this letter will spell out specific protocol that will be used every day in bringing our patients into the office. We will also have information on our website, www.orthosandiego.com, and our Facebook page. Please visit these two valuable platforms for any questions you may have before you come in for your first visit with Stormberg Orthodontics. Over the next few weeks our Team will be contacting all the patients that had appointments cancelled or rescheduled during the stay-at-home orders from Governor Newsom. We will be fair in how we approach rescheduling our patients and start with the patients first affected on March 17th. This way we should be able to get to all the patients affected over a 6 to 8 week period to catch us up. We ask for your patience during this time, which I am sure you will understand.

STORMBERG ORTHODONTICS COVID – 19 PRACTICE PROTOCOL
- For staff and patient protection
- The patient will be the only one that can come in for their appointment.The only exception is for patients 12 y/o and younger, then they may be accompanied by one parent or guardian.Parents or guardians of patients older than 12 should remain in their vehicles and we will call you after appointment to discuss the patient’s progress.
- Any patient or guardian who has symptoms of the COVID – 19 virus (dry cough, elevated temperature, loss of taste or smell, sneezing or cold symptoms) or have been around persons who have COVID – 19, we would like you to call and reschedule your appointment until you have completed quarantine.
- Any patient that has traveled outside the United States or in highly infected areas of COVID – 19 in the last two weeks should complete 14 day quarantine prior to their orthodontic appointment.
- All patients and parents/guardian will wear a mask and wash their hands (hand sanitizer station will be provided) prior to entering the office.
- Patients will enter in one entry point and then will exit from another door after their appointment.Appointments will be scheduled with a phone call immediately after your appointment.
- All patients and/or guardians entering Stormberg Orthodontics will have a temperature screening/health questionnaire prior to going back to the operatory.
- Our reception area, coffee bar and game stations will be closed until further notice to prevent any COVID-19 contamination between our patients and families.
- Our tooth brushing stations will also be closed so please make sure you brush and floss prior to your appointment.
- For patient protection
- All proper personal protection equipment (masks, gloves, eye protection, face shields, etc.) is used by Stormberg Orthodontic Team members to make sure we do not spread the virus to our patients.
- Our sterilization methods are of the highest standards and are more than effective against COVID-19 virus.
- Normally you would see our operatory in an open bay configuration.During the pandemic there will be partitions (barriers) between chairs to prevent any cross-patient contamination.
- We will see fewer patients at a time until further notice to minimize the number of people in the office at one time.
- We will continually disinfect all common surface areas and door handles throughout the day to minimize any surface contact contamination.
- The front desk will have sneeze shields in place to protect patients as they transact any business with our administrative team members
- Ultimately, we want to make our patients and their families feel comfortable and secure in our practice as we continue to create beautiful smile!

Paint Your Smile Pink Recap
Dr. Stormberg donated $1170 to Susan G. Komen in the name of 234 patients that "Painted Their Smile Pink" this October.
Back To School Contest 2017
Our students wrote beautiful letters about their favorite teachers and schools. The students won a backpack full of school supplies and snacks to start their school year! Congrats to Vincent G., Erica N., Bronson S. and Alexis P.
The schools/teachers that won a $100 gift card are La Mesa Arts Academy (Mrs. Littig and Mr. Smith), Benchly-Weinberger (Mrs. Armstrong) and Greenfield Middle School (Ms. Nejera).
Mrs. Armstrong wrote on our Facebook, "Wow! Alexis, I feel so honored <3. Thank you! You are one in a million."
Mr. Smith wrote an email to us, "Dr. Stormberg and Staff, I want to thank you for your support of the community and education. I was very surprised and excited to receive the Visa gift card. Erica was a great student last year and I will miss her. It's nice to know that teachers are still appreciated. Thanks again, Derek Smith."
Mrs. Littig wrote us a thank you letter, "Dear Dr. Stormberg, I wanted to write and thank you for the very kind and generous gesture your office bestowed upon me. I was so surprised and excited. I am very touched that Bronson decided to write about me. He is a wonderful, kind and giving person. He always has a smile on his face and it meant a lot to me to read his words. Thank you for recognizing teachers. What a wonderful idea and I am so lucky to be one of them. I love what I do, I love going to work every day, and I love my students. Thank you for making me feel special and for the incredibly generous gift card. As I'm sure you know, we spend a lot of money on our classrooms and this will be such a help."
